PAEDIATRIC EMERGENCY FIRST AID

Course Aim:
To ensure candidates are competent with all skills and knowledge in First Aid.

This course is particularly suited to anyone who cares for children and would like to gain a basic knowledge in First Aid. The course highlights various scenarios for toddlers in the home.

The course includes:

DVD 25 minutes
How to assess an emergency incident
How to carry out Basic Life Support on a baby/child
Treatment of airway disorders
How to control all bleeding
How to recognise and treat shock
How to report an incident
Treatment of burns
Recognition and treatment of fractures
Poisoning
How to treat an unconscious casualty
Treatment of hypothermia
Treatment of heat exhaustion
Responsibility of reporting injuries

Duration of course:
4 hours, taught over 1 day or two evenings

Certification:
2 year certificate of competency following successful assessment
