FIRST AID AT WORK
Course Aim:
To provide intensive First Aid at Work training to prepare
the candidate for the position of first aider in the
Workplace.
Target Group:
The course is for all requiring First Aid at Work to
comply with:
Health and Safety First Aid Regulations (Northern Ireland)
1982 and
Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application)
Regulations (Republic of Ireland) 1993
The course includes:
First
Aid and its practice
Action in an emergency
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Disorders of the airway and breathing
Circulatory problems
Wounds and bleeding
Bites and stings
Burns and scalds
Treating the unconscious casualty
Effects of temperature variations
Application of dressings and bandages
Transportation and handling the casualty
Reporting and logging of incidents
Duration of course:
Four days (or one day a week) intensive course entailing
comprehensive training
Certification:
A recognised 3 year certificate
Trainers:
Fully
qualified and accredite
Pre requisite:
Maximum of 12 persons
